We swear to have read somewhere that Ne-Yo wants the proper R&B ballads to return to the music charts in 2013. While we do appreciate a bit of Ne-You we actually think we have a much better candidate who can save the R&B ballad and bring them back to the top.
Though he’s been in the industry for quite a few years, we only found out today about US singer Jarell Perry, thanks to his management who thought we might like to hear his new single ‘Whiskey a Go Go’.
And you know what we’re glad they did, because the LA based singer songwriter’s material is fingerlicking good. The new single, an ode to his favourite drink, is very much in the line of Trey Songz and puts Perry right up with the line up of impressive R&B guys like Drake and even Usher. With impressive songwriter credentials for Fat Joe’s comeback single featuring Chris Brown, “Another Round.” already present it is only a matter of time before Jarell Perry gets his share of the worldwide fame.
