We Were Evergreen is guaranteed to put a smile on your face. listen to ‘Leeway’

evergreenWe knew there was something instantly special about the following threesome, even though we only heard 10 seconds of We Were Evergreen’s new single ‘Leeway’.

They’re fantastically witty, bring vibrant and positive melodies and they literally could brighten up any snowwy and heavy rain day here in the UK with their tracks. Yes they’re that bloody good.

So who are they exaclty? Michael Liot, Fabienne Debarre and William Serfass founded We Were Evergreen in their native France back in 2008 and decided to fuse a bit of English folk, disco beats, electronic-pop, and the storytelling traditions of their native France and give us some extraordinary songwriting skills and heavenly tunes. More of this please!

We should say it more often, but Vive La France!!!

Video for David Guetta’s new single ‘One Last Time’ arrives – Watch

If you thought you had seen the last of  David Guetta’s ‘Nothing But the Beat’ project, think again because the highly successful French dj isn’t thinking of leaving the project behind. With a staggering 8 hit singles, taken from the original and repackaged version of ‘Nothing But the Beat’ Guetta has confirmed that a second repackaged edition is on its way, with a staggering 30 tracks. Among them is the new single ‘One Last Time’ which features guest vocalist Taped Rai.

The video for the track, was unveiled yesterday on the dj’s French Youtube account and will be released as the 9th official single on December 31. ‘One Last Time’ sounds a little different from what we’ve heard of Guetta over the past year, but it’s still recognizable enough to be of the Guetta Stamp, and also fits nicely within the current mainstream pop landscape.

Check the video below:

Ten tracks we won’t stop playing this week

Don’t worry even though the title might be slightly similar to the weekly thread of Digital Spy we guarantee you we’re here to offer you plenty of tracks which we recently discovered and simply can’t get enough of. So get ready for a mixture Old School, Pop, K-Pop and lots of Girl Power.

A*M*E – Play The Game Boy (November 5)

South East Londoner Amy Kabba, is only 17 years old but under her artist name A*M*E she’s bound to become a household name in the UK music industry. As one of the few who can call Gary Barlow ‘Uncle G’ this young lady has got some huge hit potential ready with the infectious pop track ‘Play The Game Boy’. The latter is a mixture of fluent pop sounds, not that dissimilar of the K-Pop wave which is slowly but surely making its entrance in Europe. The video is awesome as well. Our favourite line? ”If you wanna take a shot, better show me what you got” which shows off A*M*E’s East London accent.

Justin Bieber – Beauty & A Beat Ft Nicki Minaj (November 12)

We are really really really starting to like Canadian superstar Justin Bieber. The teen idol has massively stepped up with his latest album ‘Believe’. We have kinda gotten lost in the count in which single this is (third we think) but really it’s by far its best single to date. Joining forces with Barb Nicki Minaj, ‘Beauty and a Beat’ is an addictive pop track. It’s out through the album already, the single version is out November 12.

4Minute – Volume Up / Love Tension (Out Now)

4Minute are the in 2009 formed South Korean girl group consisting of five members. With a huge fan base in the Asia, the girls can be considered as the Eastern equivalent of Girls Aloud and one of the leading groups for the K-Pop wave. We’re completely hooked on two of their brilliant tracks called ‘Volume Up’ and ‘Love Tension’. Both are out via the new mini LP ‘Volume Up’. Girl Power’s always at its best when there’s five!

Ke$ha – Die Young (November 26)

Personality wise we’re not sure we’re crazy about Ke$ha but blimey there’s no denying this girl makes some pretty awesome party music. ‘Die Young’ is therefore no exception. The single is the predecessor for the the singer songwriter’s second album which is out in December. With lyric videos being a common thing these days, Ke$ha is truly stepping it up a notch making an appearance and quite literally changing the concept once again. The changes in fact are so great that we wouldn’t mind having it as the actual video for the song. Killer-anthem!

Labrinth – Underneath Your Beautiful Ft. Emeli Sande (Out now)

To be fairly honest, upon hearing Labrinth would release his next single with Olympic Games ambassador Emeli Sande, were really were concerned about the overexposure of the latter in the last few months. But we should have known there was nothing to worry about. Sande in fact stays rather in the background while Labrinth really carries this beautiful ballad on his shoulders. It’s all Christmassy and gooey like a proper Chocolate Fudge Pudding. So no wonder, the duo took the number 1 in the UK charts this week. Go get it!

Bright Light Bright Light – Feel It ft. Mykal Kilgore (out Now)

Rod Thomas aka Bright Light Bright Light is actually our biggest revelation in 2012 with ‘Waiting For This Feeling’ still being heavily rotated on our Ipod. The successor ‘s track ‘Feel It’ continues where ‘Waiting For This Feeling’ finished. It’s an incredible old school track with smooth vocals, bombarding it once again to one of our ultimate favourites. Check out the video too as it’s AWESOME!

Christophe Willem – Starlight (French version out now)

From one amazing performer to another. French artist/singer songwriter Christophe Willem shot to fame a few years ago after winning the French talent show ‘Nouvelle Star’. Since he’s appeared in musicals and mainly released albums, the latest one being Prismophonic (2011). Taken from that album, Starlite, has now been translated and given a Freemasons remix, sampling a little bit of Chaka Khan. The result is simply Lush. Currently only the French version is out, but we’re hoping the English cut isn’t far off.

Girls Aloud – Something New (November 18)

So we talked about the Asian equivalent of Girls Aloud but we would forget our favourite fivesome are also back together and presented they’d tour again early 2013. Not only that though, in November Girls Aloud are celebrating their 10th anniversary with a brand new Greatest hits album and the new single ‘Something New’ which serves as the BBC’s Children in Need Charity single. As with Ke$ha Girls Aloud are turning the lyric video in a proper music video, which suits the already amazing track beautifully. We are so buying this!

Little Mix – DNA (November 12)

Plenty of Girl Power today so what a better way to end it all off with the latest addition of promising girl bands. Yes their proper debut single ‘Wings’ got us seriously excited so when we heard ‘DNA’ we were once again blown away. The Little muffins of Tulisa, have come a far way since they won the X Factor nearly a year ago, and their produces so far are showing they are in it for the long run. Clearly inspired by the Katy Perry performance during Halloween week last year, ‘DNA’ is much darker than its predecessor but also a huge signature to the Little Mix stamp. Amazing!

Chartwatch: Who’s leading the charts in Spain, Italy, France, Germany & UK?

Going on holiday? And wondering which tracks you might get bombarded with over the next fourteen days while you’re relaxing near the pool? Well don’t worry any longer, because GloPop is here to give you an overview of what’s currently topping the chart in five of Europe’s biggest music industries.

Spain: Cali & El Dandee feat. David Bisbal – No Hay 2 Sin 3 (Gol) (out Now!)

Alejandro Rengifo (Cali) and Mauricio Rengifo (Dandee), together Cali & Dandee, are a Colombian dance duo who have teamed up with Spain’s most popular singer David Bisbal for an uptempo summer dance anthem entitled ‘No Hay 2 Sin 3 (Gol)’. The song’s been in the Spanish chart for 9 weeks but has only managed to attain the number 1 this week. It’s the second number 1 single for the Colombian duo.

Germany: Lykke Li – I follow Rivers (Out now!)

Swedish songstress Lykke Li will be chuffed. Although her track ‘I follow Rivers’ has been out since 2008, it’s now nearly three four years later proving to be a massive hit at the continent. Belgium, the Netherlands and France have fallen for her mesmerizing indie-pop track last year, and now it’s Germany’s turn to welcome Lykke Li as their number one.

Italy: Gusttavo Lima – balada boa tche tche rere (Out Now!)

22 year old Brazilian pop singer Gusttavo Lima, has followed into the footsteps of country man Michel Teló and is currently conquering many European countries with his summer hit ‘Balada Boa (Tche Tche rere)’. Job done in Italy however, as the man’s steadily holding on to the number 1 position for six full weeks. The whole of Europe has fallen for Brazilian pop so be aware!

France: Carly Rae Jepsen – Call My Name (Out Now!)

Canadian superstar Carly Rae Jepsen, proves to be a strong contender for the end of year charts. Her global debut ‘Call Me Maybe’ has taken its number 1 position back in France after being number 1 for a week in June. The total amount of weeks on number 1 in France comes down to three weeks. Well done Carly!

United Kingdom: Maroon 5 – Payphone ft Wiz Khalifa (Out Now)

Things looked rather grim at first for Maroon 5 latest single ‘Payphone’ when a released cover of their track made it nearly to the top. However good news for the American guys, who managed to take the number 1 last week. Whether they can hold on for another week will be difficult. the Calvin Harris Remix of Florence+ The Machine’s track ‘Spectrum’ seems to be having the number 1 in the bag. We’ll find out tomorrow.

on a second note the ‘I can Only Imagine’ video is released for the Guetta, Brown and Lil Wayne collab. Watch here

Huge day for Chris Brown, not only has his new album ‘Fortune’ been launched in the UK today, the official video for his collaboration track with Dj David Guetta and Lil’Wayne has found the day light.

The video, which is the scene of a virtual play world sees both Guetta and Brown in astronaut similar suits in space cocoons, while Lil’Wayne gets to play arround in a virtual skate park.

‘Let Me Imagine’ would have been a nice extra addition to Brown’s new cd as it fits perfectly in the ‘Fortune’ concept, yet for some strange reason the track doesn’t appear on the track list, possibly due to the fact that the track is produced by Guetta and features on his cd ‘Nothing But the Beat’. Brown is the latest addition of collaborators after Guetta has released tracks with Flo Rida, Taio Cruz, Sia, Nicki Minaj.

‘I can Only Imagine’ is out now via David Guetta’s album ‘Nothing But The Beat’.
